Sunday 6th December After a long flight we finally arrived in Vegas at 1pm local time, an hour earlier than scheduled :-)

We got to the hotel and looked for the woman who upgraded us last year but couldn't find her, so we got in a queue for someone who looked like she might upgrade us, but when we got to the desk she wasn't being very accommodating - even though I was flashing a $50 in her face.  Instead, she put us in a disabled room with a view of the City Centre and said we could move to a normal room if we wanted to in a few days time.

We go up to the room and thought as we didn't have to unpack we would just dump the cases in the room and go straight back out - no point in unpacking as we are intending on moving in a day or so and may even get that upgrade!  Put all the valuables in the safe and set the code...  "Error"  Try again... "Error".  Marvelous.  So I rang down and they said they would send someone straight up to check it out straight away.  Their straight away is obviously different to my straight away as we were still sat there waiting 30 minutes later - we just wanted to get out and see Vegas!  Someone from security eventually arrives and re-sets the safe and we are good to go.

First place I wanted to check out was the new City Centre.  Nothing but the shopping area is open at the moment but the casino is opening in 8 days.  We walk around but not much to see and all the shops here are Prada and Tiffany etc - too expensive for us.

We wander around for a couple more hours in a comatose state as it's now 4am back in the UK and we are ready for bed and it's only 8pm.  We sleep anyway and look forward to morning.

Monday 7th December Morning has well and truly arrived - very very morning, 4am and we are wide awake.  We get dressed and go downstairs to the casino and had a walk around to see what they had done with the old Brew Pub - renamed "The Pub".  (A lot of thinking went into that one).  On our travels we see a new sign for a tram to the Bellagio.  This is a godsend as you can no longer walk in a straight line from the Monte Carlo to the Bellagio since they built the City Centre.  They have basically done away with the sidewalk and you have to walk through the City Centre to get anywhere on that side of the road.  It's a bit pants to be honest.  So we catch the tram to the Bellagio and it comes out near the chocolate fountain - yum.  Right next to that are their Christmas decorations and it's lovely and quiet and we get to walk around and take them in - they are exceptional as always.

After our walk around the Bellagio we head to Ballys for coffee as it's the best coffee in Vegas by a long way - even better than Starbucks.  Then we go onto Paris, Planet Hollywood, Miracle Mile Shops and then back to the Monte Carlo to try their breakfast buffet.  It was $11.50 plus tax and it's basically all you can eat.  Some people go up three or four times!  Once was enough for me but Neil went up twice AND had chocolate cake after.  Only in America would they put chocolate cake out for breakfast.

We then took a walk over to the Tropicana and played some craps on a $5 table and doubled our money, which was a good job as we lost that and more on the Video Poker machines earlier in the day.

We need a nap by now so head back to our hotel and stop at the MGM to see the lions and the Excalibur on our way back.   By now it's 2pm and we wonder if Stu's plane has landed yet.  Stu rings us at 4.30pm to say he's arrived and checked in and is off to find a game of poker, probably at the MGM so when we wake up we head on over to see if we can find him.  We see him straight away as he's near the rail and has a nice stack of chips in front of him as well as a beer.  We shout over to him and he comes over for a quick chat and we arrange to meet up the next day after he's had a decent nights sleep.

We fancied a drink and head to Ballys as we know the barman at one of the bars there from last year, Steve.  He's not working and we decide to not drink there and go to the Flamingo instead.  Glad we did as the bar we found had a VP machine that was very kind to me!  We left $170 up - nice.

It's really busy this year, normally Vegas in December is quite until about the 20th but for some reason it's heaving and it's impossible to pass on the sidewalks in places.  We get off the strip and go to O'sheas and grab a burger for dinner and watch the nutters playing beer pong.

We are getting tired again, it's about 2am, and so we take a slow walk back to the hotel, stopping in Paris on the way to use the restrooms.  I don't normally talk about our toilet breaks in my reports but this deserves a mention!  While you are sitting their doing your business, there is a tape playing over the speakers "Popular phrases that you may like to learn for your stay at the Paris hotel".  You then get a phrase in English and then the person repeats the phrase in French so you can learn it.  Here are some of the phrases.  "Oh shit, have you seen my wedding ring?", "I like you very much but I would like to get to know you as a person first", "If I said you had a lovely body, would you hold it against me?", "Have you seen my panties?"and finally "If my husband calls, I'm busy, if the pool boy calls, I'm here".  Quite amusing, I personally sat their longer than I needed to, giggling away.

We then went to the bar and sat down as all this walking is thirsty work, bartender came over and asked us what we wanted to drink, I ask for a Bud and a Corona and he asks to see my ID, which I didn't have on me - doh.  I told him I was 40 next month and he said "Congratulations sweetheart, but you still can't have a drink or gamble here unless you show me ID".  Do I really look under 21!?!?  Needless to say we pretty much told him to stick his beer and left.  Note to self, ALWAYS carry your ID when in Vegas.

We somehow had a second wind and instead of going back to the hotel room we went to NYNY and got a couple of very very alcoholic daiquiri's.  I had to wait about 50 yards away out of sight whilst Neil got the drinks as it said on a big sign that anyone wanting a drink would be ID'd.  Luckily Neil had his on him and we were getting slowly smashed on our massive frozen cocktails in no time.     We finally get to bed at 3am, both worse for wear and feet aching.

Tuesday 8th December I woke up at 7am just as Neil walked out the door.  I knew he would have gone out for his early morning walk which he loves to do while I am still sleeping. Unfortunately I couldn't get back to sleep so I got up and got myself ready for the day ahead.  Neil was back within the hour and we got ready to move rooms.  The upgrade was still not forthcoming, seems the hotel is completely booked, so I asked for a room with a strip view, which is about $50 more usually.  We were told that was fine but our room was not ready yet and to come back in a few hours.  In a few hours we went back, still not been cleaned, eventually after waiting 5 hours we were given the choice of a mountain view room which we took and moved straight away.

We then went on a search for Stu.  MGM card room was heaving but he wasn't there, so we went to Excalibur where he is staying and found him sat there, beer in hand and happy as a pig in poop.

We arranged to meet up at 9.30pm outside the M&M store and would then go downtown to Binions to play in their 11pm tourney.

On the way out of the Excalibur there was one of these oxygen bars and I stopped to see what it was all about as it wasn't busy.  The woman basically jumped on me to try it and gave me a freebee as it had been a slow day.  While I was on the oxygen, she massaged my back for me for 20 mins - very nice!  The oxygen though, made no difference to me at all - I did not feel rejuvenated - glad I didn't pay for it.

Stu was going to go and catch 2 hours sleep before we met up so we decided to do the same as we had been up since 7am, having only had 4 hours sleep.

Neil unfortunately has developed a bad cough (he caught a cold either at Gatwick or just before we left home) and is all blocked up and having problems breathing.  So needless to say I didn't get more than 20 minutes sleep due to him coughing grrrrrrrrrrr.  Not really sure how I am going to last the night and play this tourney downtown but I am up for a challenge.

Stu is waiting at the bus stop when we arrive, as is the bus and within 45 minutes we are downtown and heading to Binions to register.  Turns out the tourneys starts at 10pm and not 11pm and we are 20 minutes late.  Bugger.

As we are downtown we might as well make the most of it so we decide to teach Stu how to play craps.  He seems up to the challenge but when it comes to it, he just wants to watch and not play - chicken!  Neil doubles his money again and the roll turns bad so we leave the table.

We spend a few hours downtown and then catch the deuce bus back to the strip.  Stu was going to go back to the MGM to find a juicy cash game but decides to stay with us instead.  We jump off at O'sheas as there is an electronic Heads up poker game in there that we found the other night.  I bet Stu $20 that Neil would beat him and so the game was on.  It was a good match but it eventually all went in when Stu found QQ and rivered quads - damn it.

Then we walked to Bally to Steves bar - he's there!  We get re-aquainted and order some drinks - the first of many - too many.  Stu is now taught how to properly play VP by Neil and hits his first quads after about 2 hours of playing.  This was met my much whooping and clapping for Stu.  I had hit quad Aces and 3 other sets of quads throughout the night and was winning over $200.

3am arrived and we decided to call it a night and walked back to the Monte Carlo where we all got pizza - the pre bedtime snack of the yanks.  Whist in America...

Wednesday 9th December I am beginning to think that I shouldn't drink so much.  I blame Stu - he's a very bad influence.

Up at 9am today, managed 5 hours sleep this time.  Need to stop taking those mid day naps!

We walk to the Excalibur and catch the tram to Mandalay Bay.  Don't ever spend much time here as it's right at the south end of the strip but still like to make an appearance when we visit Vegas.  We go out the front entrance as we want to try to get across to the other side of the strip and then walk down to the Las Vegas Sign.   Whilst we are crossing the road we see this big hot air balloon tethered to the ground and it is being pulled back down to earth.  I immediately want to go on it!  Neil isn't so sure but gets up the courage eventually and we go to the sales office and get our "Boarding Passes".  It's $22.50 and you get a 15 minute "flight".  Brad, our pilot, meets us and walks us over to the balloon and takes us up.   You are tethered to the ground the whole time, so the balloon just goes straight up and can't actually go anywhere.  At 400 feet the line comes to a stop and you get to walk around the massive doughnut structure that you stand in, at will.  You can see the whole strip, and the airport and helicopters fly by.  It was great.  I didn't have my camera on me though so I might have to go up again to get some shots!  Not sure Neil will do it again though lol.

The company that does the flights is called Cloud Nine and they have only been open since October 2009.  We went up alone as there was no one else waiting but there were 6 people waiting to get on when we got back on the ground and a few more inside paying and ready to go up.  It can take about 20 people up at any one time and is a must if you aren't afraid of heights.

We then caught the bus to the other end of the strip as our 24 hour bus pass was still valid.  Basically walked back via Palazzo, Venetian and TI (stopped there for the Lunch Buffet where Neil made a new desert creation that he was very proud of which consisted of a cookie, covered in melted chocolate, topped with choc chips, brownie pieces, more choc sauce and finished off with sprinkles!).  He was very proud of his masterpiece.  Had to stop at PH as feet were killing me, so much for not doing so much walking today.  The sun has been shining all day and it's blindingly bright today.  The wind is bitterly cold though and you deffo need a coat at this time of year.

We go back to the room as Neil needed an hour or so kip, he's still feeling quite poorly, so I have taken this time to start my report.   This is the first time the laptop has been out of it's bag since we arrived, it's been lovely to have a break from it though.

Had a 10 minute lie down while I was waiting for Neil to wake up and the next thing I know, it's 4am and we've been asleep for hours.

Thursday 10th December Well, as it was 4am it was a nice and quiet time to go to the Bellagio conservatory and take some snaps and a short Video of their decorations. I also took a short Video

of the walkway from the Bellagio to Caesars and Ballys.

We then went onto Ballys for our early morning coffee and I sat at a VP machine and hit quads twice for a nice little payout, whilst Neil tried his luck at the craps table.  It wasn't long before he came and found me, having lost his buy-in.

I fancied a game of poker so we went to Planet Hollywood to see what time their tourneys started.  They usually run every three hours or so in PH but one had not been started long so it was another few hours until the next one.  So we headed to Excalibur as we knew there was a $25 + $10 add-on tourney at 9am there.  It was only 7am so we still had a bit of a wait and what better way to wait than at a bar whilst doing your money!  And do it we did :-(

The tourney started on time, 33 runners, top 4 places paid.  We both made the final table - yes Neil played too!  Neil had most of the chips and I moved to the final table with ONE chip having lost my big stack in the hand just before the final table was started.  Needless to say, I was first to leave the final table and Neil wasn't far behind when his aces got cracked.  Wasn't very impressed with this card room over all - the dealers were very poor and there was bad waitress service.  The players on the other hand were terrible and you want to play with them all day every day!  The blind structure also made the game a crapshoot after only 3 levels so you needed to make chips quick to be in with any sort of a chance of making the money.

We take a slow walk back to the Monte Carlo and stop at the buffet for lunch before going back to the room for a quick nap as we were up at 4am and wouldn't be able to last the day without one.

Two hours later we were out and headed to the Palazzo on the deuce bus.  There is an NFL game on today that Neil wants to bet on.  You can do this in any sports book but the Palazzo have a new "in running betting" system that Neil wanted to try out.

We arrived at the sports book and go to sign up for this new system.  You get this touch screen pad which is about 11" x 7" big.  You give them your money ($100 minimum) and they load up your account for you.  You then go and find a seat, which was almost impossible as everybody had called ahead and reserved their tables.  We did find two seats though and settled in for the game.  As the game started, the touch pad thing came to life with lots of different bets.  It's very simple and doesn't take long to master and before we knew it, Neil was happily placing bets on the game as it was in play.  Very good idea and saves you time keep going up to the counter to place your bets.  The Palazzo is currently the only place on the strip that has this in running betting system, but I am guessing it will catch on and all sports books will have it very soon.  One downside is that the drinks weren't comped here so we had to pay full price.  We ended up spending $70 on 3 drinks each and a plate of loaded nachos which was a bit extortionate.

We went back to the other end of the strip, stopping in various casinos on the way for cheap beer and a gamble.   We were in bed by 1am but didn't get to sleep until 3.30am as the young lads next door were having a party of all parties.  The walls are VERY thin in the Monte Carlo grrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Friday 11th December Managed to wake at a reasonable hour, by Vegas standards.  Up and out by 11am and on our way to the Mandalay Bay for their $50 freezeout tournament at midday.  Only got 20 runners but was fun.  I texted Stu to tell him where we were going but he was already in a tourney at Ballys.  He texted later to say he was out of Ballys tourney and headed to see us.  He arrived 2 minutes too late for tourney registration so sat in a cash game instead.  I was out just before the final table and Neil made the final but got horribly rivered in 2 massive pots and wasn't out long after me.  Stu cashed in his chips from the cash game and we headed out on the search for more cheap buy in tourneys and food.

Ended up all the way up the other end of the strip at the Mirage and had pizza for lunch at the California Pizza Kitchen.  $60 inc tip for all three pizzas.  Great pizza at that.

We check out the sit n go tourneys in their card room but you only get 1000 chips for your $70 and the blind structure is bonkers so we all agreed to go elsewhere for poker.

We got to O'Sheas just before 4pm and registered for their 4pm tournament.  Neil didn't play this one but Stu and I made the final and he proceeded to knock me out on the first hand of the final when his 99 beat my AJ.  He didn't use my chips wisely though and we were headed up the strip again in no time looking for another game.

There is a bar/shop called Margaritaville in between O'Sheas and The Flamingo and there was this bloke holding 4 massive parrots and I stopped to talk to them and he asked if I wanted to hold them.  Before I know it, I have 4 parrots on me , two on each arm!  One of them, Christina, kept biting at my coat collar and the guy had to keep telling her off lol.  He then took one of the parrots, held her upside down and told me to hold my hands out.  I did as instructed and he put the parrot in my hands and he happily just lay their, biting his nails.  The bloke took some pics, one of which we brought for $15.  It was very funny and I would go do it again in a heartbeat.

Ended up at Planet Hollywood for their 7pm tourney.  Great game here.  It got 3 full tables, 3500 starting chips, slow blind structure and you get an extra 500 chips if you have a players card, which we both had.  Again, Neil didn't play and left Stu and I to it.  Neither of us made the final table though, Stus aces got cracked by A2o and my AK suited got cracked when some moron called all in pf with JTo and rivered a straight.  Flop came AK6, turn 5 and you know the Q is coming on the river.  F***!  I would have had over 30k chips had my hand stood up and been in a good position on the final table.  The card room is one of the best run in Vegas at PH.  Would recommend this card room to anyone who wants a well run, fun game of poker.

All pokered out by this point as I have never played so much poker in Vegas.  One tourney is unheard of for us, let alone three.  It has been a great laugh though and you do meet some right characters.

Stu and us then went on our separate ways as none of us could decide what to do next, so he went and sat in a cash game at the MGM to chill and drink some more.

We ended up walking round the M&M store and some other shops and by 11.30pm we thought it was about time to go and get another frozen daiquiri from the NYNY walkway.  $11 each for a massive glass of alcohol.  We sat and played VP whilst we drank our frozen delights.  I had a "Cat 5 Hurricane" which is basically rum with more rum and some flavoured punch and Neil had a "Margarita" which was very strong.

You can go back and get refills for $8 so of course we thought it would be rude not to, especially as we were up over $200 on the VP.

I had the same again but Neil went with a "Pina Colada" for his refill.  I had to show my ID on both visits - do I really look under 21 ffs??

We were in bed by 2am and extremely drunk - I love this town!

Saturday 12th December Ouch, my head hurts today.  Neil on the other hand has no hangover and he had 3 beers on top of what I had.  I must be getting old.

We went for breakfast in the buffet downstairs, but to our horror they only do breakfast buffet Monday to Friday!  Instead, we had to pay an extra $8 for their "Champagne Brunch".  Oh, what the hell we thought, and went on in.  We both had two glasses of champers with our breakfast and promptly ended up back in bed.  Will we ever learn?

Went out and took a few more pictures today, also got a Video of the strip that I thought might interest those of you who have never been here.

The place is absolutely heaving so we get off the strip and walk around the other side of the Monte Carlo and around the back of the City Centre.  We attempted to get to the In 'n' Out Burger but you can only reach it by car so we had to turn back as we ran out of sidewalks.

Ended back on the strip and spent some time in the MGM, Tropicana and Excalibur before heading back to our hotel.  Finally get to bed at 4am.

Sunday 13th December  Today is NFL day which means a day in a Sports Book of Neil choosing.  He chose the Palazzo again because of their "in running betting".  This time we got 5 drinks tickets so drinks were free, barring a tip to the waitress.  Then Neil went and placed a bet at the counter rather than doing it on his console and they gave him another 4 tickets.  So we had a cheaper day there today.

We spend most of the day here, it's a nice break from the hustle and bustle outside and the waitresses look after your every need - well, almost.

The last game finishes at about 8pm and we text Stu to see if he fancies meeting up for a Chinese at PF Changs as it's his last day in Vegas.  He says probably not as he is going to play a tourney at Caesars Palace and hopes to be in the final when we are eating.

He was still in when we sat down to our tasty meal and continued texting his progress throughout the night and finally made the final table about 1am, so he made the money - go Stuey!

Did a bit of shopping at Walgreens on the way back to the Monte Carlo and was safely tucked up in bed by 2.30am

Monday 14th December   Had a lie in today, woke up to a text from Stu saying they did a six way chop and they all took $1,800 - nice one!

First stop this morning was at Tix 4 Tonight to get tickets for Penn and Teller.  Just our luck, they went dark today until 26th December. Not much else takes our fancy so looks like our show for this trip is off :-(

I have wanted, for a few years now, to go to The Gun Store and shoot a gun.  Today was the day.  We hopped in a taxi and were there in 5 minutes.  I decided to go with the ladies package, but only because it was the cheapest.  $50 got me 20 rounds with a Glock Semi Automatic Handgun and 10 rounds with an AR57 Semi Automatic Rifle.  It was an amazing feeling and the kickback I got from the Glock was a lot more than I thought it would be.  The place is run mainly by ex police/army and they are armed at all times with automatic rifles.  A bit frightening at first to see all these people walking around with loaded weapons, but the adrenalin kicks in and you are more concerned about shooting your own weapon.  I am deffinitely glad I did this and I think I will go back next year and try and AK47!!

We decided to stay off the strip for a while and walked a bit further east along Tropicana Avenue.  We came across a small shopping area and had a wander round and then walked back to the Gun Store an hour or so later to catch a taxi, but they had all gone - oops.  It's over 2.5 miles from the strip so not possible to walk back and it was now dark, so we walked about 3 blocks and saw a little steak house called Dessys and went in there to ask them if they would call us a taxi.  They obliged and we were back on the strip within half an hour.

Popped back to the room to drop off my gun store targets (one of them being Osama Bin Laden who I didn't miss once!) and then we went across to the other side of the strip to the Showcase cinema to watch 2012 - which was pretty disappointing.  After that we went to the Outback for a steak dinner just before they closed at 11pm.

NYNY's daiquiris were calling and we got one each and had an hours gambling.  I forgot to cash out $20 from a VP machine when we moved to another machine, but by the time I went back, someone was at the machine and playing with my money - serves me right!

In bed by 2am today, hoping to get up at a reasonable hour to go find a show to watch before we come home.

Tuesday 15th December   We spent most of the day at the North end of the strip today.  Started out at the Stratosphere and walked around the shops at the top.  Had my first Aqua massage which was bloomin wicked and very relaxing, although I did get a bit see sick when it finished and had to have a bit of a sit down to collect myself.

We then walked to the Sahara where Neil was undecided as to whether to go on their rollercoaster or not.  Instead, he went on the Nascar ride which he hated lol.   We went back to purchase rollercoaster tickets at dead on 8pm but they close at 8pm and wouldn't let him on.

So we headed back to the Stratosphere and had their dinner time buffet which wasn't bad, but we've had better.  They don't label the food in there so you have to guess what everything is!  Bit rubbish.   It's easy enough to see what chocolate cake is though!.

After another few hours gambling we jumped on the deuce bus and jumped back off at Circus Circus.  We spent the next few hours milling around Circus Circus, Slots 'o' fun, Riviera, Encore and Wynn before getting back on the deuce and heading back to the Monte Carlo.

Don't know why, but tonight we couldn't find our frozen daiquiris!!  The bar in NYNY was closed, so we went over to MGM and theirs was closed, so we went to the Margarita place next to the M&M store which is never closed, but it was closed!  WTF is going on, it's only 1am and everywhere has shut down for the night.  I have a feeling that it's because it has been very quiet today and so I guess they decide to shut up early.

We went tothe Excalibur but their bar was closed too so we gave up and came back.

We thought Aria was opening tonight too, but when we tried to get in, big men with walkie talkies stopped us.  Apparently they are opening tomorrow at midnight and the people that we saw walking around in there right now, were private guests having a pre-opening night party.  We did try to get into another door, but had the same problem so gave up.  We will return tomorrow night (our last night before we come home) :0(

Wednesday 16th December   It's our last full day in Vegas today, we chose to spend some of it Downtown.  On the way back we both started to feel sick and had to get off the bus before our stop.  Got back to the room and chill out for a while and then do the packing.  It's possible we both ate something that's making us sick - hope we don't have food poisoning.

We stopped off at the Players Club earlier today and got comped our two most expensive nights, so it's well worth asking if you can get anything off your room.  I think we got three nights a few years back but we were here for longer.  Still, two days is still a nice saving.

We also both have over $100 free play on our cards so we are going to do that either later tonight or tomorrow before we leave.

At 11.30pm we took a walk over to Aria for the opening at midnight.  It was heaving outside with queues of people on both entrances waiting to get in, as well as the bridge being packed solid.  We chose to wait on the bridge and headed into one of the queues 5 minutes before opening. It wasn't long before the queues started to get smaller as they all filtered into the brand new casino.  We eventually got to the main doors at 12.10 and were finally inside.  The hotel is lovely, very modern with lots of wood and glass.  The poker room was full and the wait list for games was 30 long for each table.  All the bars were full so it was impossible to get a drink but it was just nice to be there on such an occasion.

We walked around the whole convention rooms area upstairs and the pool area (they have 4 pools here) and the spa etc waiting for the casino to thin out a bit.  Most people just want to lose $20, have a look round and then leave.  Within 90 minutes or so it wasn't so busy and we found a VP machine and began to play off our free points play.  Ended up winning $300+ between us, so not bad at all just for collecting points when you play.

We headed back to the Monte Carlo via the walkway and were back within 5 minutes and in bed not long after.  Not long before the alarm goes off and we have to check out :0(

Thursday 17th December   The holiday is over and we have to check out by 11am.  Woke at 10.30am and packed away the last few bits.  We have just over 2 hours before we need to be at the airport so we check out bags in with the Bell Desk and take one final walk up the strip to Aria, Bellagio, Ballys, Paris, PH and back.  The sun is shining and it's too hot to wear a coat.  Making the most of it as we know there is snow back in the UK as soon as we return.

We won a few more dollars on VP and then jumped into a taxi headed for the airport.

The plane was on time but we were told when we boarded that we were not sure if we could land at Gatwick or not as it was currently closed, but we would just get up into the air and worry about where we were going to land when we got nearer home.  Luckily, Gatwick opened 10 minutes before we landed and we were one of the first planes allowed to land there that morning.  Unfortunately, we had to wait over 2 hours for our luggage which was a bit of a nuisance as I just wanted to get into the car and get home before I got too tired.

All in all it's been another amazing trip to Vegas.  There is always something new to do and see, i will never tire of going there.

The Monte Carlo have gone down slightly in my estimations for several reasons.  Housekeeping was a bit poor as they kept forgetting to leave towels etc so we had to call down to get more.  When you check in now you have to pay $50 per night for "incidentals".  They take this off of you as well as the rate you are paying per night and do not give it back to you for several weeks after you depart.  This is a new thing they are doing and it's completely out of order imo.  Luckily I had the extra money in my account but normally I would not have and where would we have been then??  I have also never seen such miserable staff at the tables, they still need lessons on how to deal with people.  I guess you can say this for most hotels but Monte Carlo seems to have the worst of them.

I don't think we will ever stay at the Monte Carlo again as there are much better hotels out there for slightly more money.
