Two new players this month: Martin (OwlMan) and Andy (H1ghlander)

We had 2 full tables of 8 this month and the competition is just getting better and players are getting harder to beat!!

We started the day by choosing a nick for Lance (now a regular at our game). A list was compiled from nicks that were suggested on the forum over the past few weeks. The choices were:

Loose Lance
Lance The Halibut Hallet
St. Nick the Blinds
St. Nick the Pot
The Bearded Clam
Lance The Hedge
Lance The Mallet Hallet
Lance Take A Chance
Steal Beale The Jetset Wheel

Everybody at the game got to choose what nick they wanted for Lance and the outright winner, by a massive landslide, was The Bearded Clam. The site has now been updated with his new nick and he will now be referred to by his new nick.

First game started late as everybody who came on the M11 (90% of the players) got stuck in traffic, we eventually got going 45 mins. late and all were more than ready to get stuck in.

There were enough clingfilm comments throughout the whole day to last a lifetime. The fact that I had put a note on the oven to remind myself didnt help matters. The note simply read Take Clingfilm Off!.

I came up against Martin (Owlman) and his favourite starting hand in the last tournament. He raised with 23 suited and I re-raised all in with AQ offsuit. I knew before the cards were turned over that I was gonna lose coz Martin said Oh Ali, youre in BIG trouble. I knew he had 23 suited and he hit a 2 on the river to give him a pair of 2s and take me out. UNREAL!

Our other new player, Andy (h1ghlander), made an amazing comeback in the last game. He went all in with 62 offsuit as he was down to his last 2k in chips. He hit a pair of 6s on the flop and a 6 on the turn gave him trip 6s. He went onto win the game and left very happy. Before the last game started, he said to me Ive come 4th in the last 2 games, I now have to win the last one. He kept his word.

Kevin (Lovejoy) disappeared upstairs to have a lie down. 2 hours later he was still upstairs and when Andrew went to check on him, he was out for the count . I went and woke him up in time for the last game (although I got the feeling he would rather have been left to sleep some more!). Sorry Kevin.

All in all it was a great day of poker. The usual amount of junk food and alcohol were consumed . The abuse flowed freely and we never stopped laughing all day.

See you all at the next one
