I had yet another three new players to this months’ game. Curtis, Darren and Matt made their first appearance and put the list of people that have been to my game up to 95 . I know Matt and Darren from Luton and I met Curtis online on a poker forum when he contacted me about coming to the game. All three of the newbies settled into the game really quickly and I look forward to seeing them at future games .

Worzil, normally one of the first to arrive to each game, was late for the first game. So I gave him a ring and said “are you on your way?”. He said “on my way where?” . It turns out that he thought the game was next week and that he was giving a lecture at the Art Museum in London. I hope it all went well Worzil.

Another two no-shows (who were supposed to turn up to the last game only) were Dan (Hambo) and James B. I am assuming that James got so slaughtered at the pub in the afternoon whilst watching the footie with his mates and then collapsed on the sofa when he got home. As for Hambo, I don’t know. A call from both of them would have been nice tho, as I ordered enuff Chinese food for an extra two people expecting them to turn up. Oh well, guess I will be eating Chinese for the next few days .

I also just wanted to say a thank you to those people who Emailed me and sent me text messages saying how much they enjoyed the game and appreciated the hard work I put into the day. This always puts a smile on my face and makes me keep waning to run the game. Without this recognition, I would surely stop the game. So thanks guys and gals – you know who you are

We had 6 for the first game this month (would have been 7 if Worzil hadn’t forgotten about the game). We finished the first game quite quickly as Neil and myself chopped it when we got heads up. With an hour to kill before the next lot of players arrived, we decided to have another game. So we had a £10 NL Hold’Em Tourney. This was not included in the poker league rankings.

The last £50 game went really slowly , this could have been because we didn’t realise we were down to 8 runners (8 in the final) for approx 40 minutes after 9th place was knocked out . It appears there was some confusion that the other table had lost a player and I *apparently* told them to carry on. I don’t even remember being told and none of the other players at my table remember it either. I even turned round at one point and asked if Rick (who finished 9th) was still in and he said that he was “still participating”. Anyways, I got knocked out whilst still playing 4 handed at my table and the final started with 7 instead of 8. A few people said this didn’t matter but obviously had it been 8 handed and I had played in the final, it would have turned out differently. I might even have won!! Never mind. We live and learn by our mistakes (hopefully).

Yet another great day of poker and thanks to everyone that showed.

AwesomeAli
