24.05.03

A great day of poker. A total of 19 people passed through the doors for this months game.

We had 2 new faces this month, Jamie (Reevio) and Dan (Danski), we have met them both at Luton before so they settled in really easily into the game as we weren't all total strangers to them. That makes a total of 69 different people that we have had at our tables since we started our home game 22 months ago.

A great surprise on the day as Matt (The Ship) made a return to our game after at least 18 months of not playing (I guess once you play poker(and then give up the game) you eventually come back for more)

Dan (Hambo) picked Table 1 Seat 1 and was, therefore, the bounty for the first game. Jamie (Jokers Full) took him out and went on to win the game and so became the bounty for the second game. Steve Brown then claimed the bounty of Jamies head in the second game and the bounty on Steves head in the last game was claimed by Tim (Top Pair). The bounty idea has becoming very amusing as people are constantly trying to win the bounty money, albeit only a small amount (15 - 20 per game depending on number of runners).

Andrew is still top of the Poker League but James (The Arbernaut), Steve (Mad dog), Jamie (Jokers Full) and myself (AwesomeAli) are all hot on his heels.

Lloyd (Seven Card) and his wife Janine (The Innocence) honoured us with their presence for the last game again this month. I have given Janine her new nick and I hope she is happy with it (I am sure everyone else will be). She made a few hilarious comments at the table that had us all in hysterics. The only reason it was funny is because she really didnt know that what she was saying was funny . A Few of her comments:

Janine (The Innocence) to Matt (The Ship) after winning a big pot off of him.....

"Can I show my cards now he's folded to show people what I had?"
(Janine shows her cards and was bluffing). Then she turns to Matt and says: "I was trying to trick you".

and...

Janine (The Innocence) to hubby Lloyd (Seven Card) who is very low on chips at the time......

"You're not doing very well are you darling".

There were so many more hilarious yet innocent remarks from Janine but those are the two that stuck in my mind and the ones that made everyone laugh the most. I hope you're happy with your new nick Janine, I think it is very appropriate.

I personally had a bad day of poker as in I did not make the final table once. At the end of the night as I was putting things away, a cash game was being played. Those playing were Andrew (L.G.F.), Simon (Ashforce), Steve (Mad Dog), Janine (The Innocence) and Lloyd (Seven Card) . I was tired but decided to play for the last half hour as Simon had to go at 2am to collect his girlie from her night out. So at 1.30am I sat with my 10 and watched as Simon outdrew Andrew every time Andrew was all-in. Andrew pulled up yet another 20, in for about 60 at this time I believe. So Andrew is crying like a girl and not taking the beats at all well . After he loses his last 20 he decides enough is enough and leaves me to play. The game breaks at 2.15am and I am up 52 in 45 mins (most of it is Simons money (much to Andrews delight)).

Not long until the next game (YAY). Cya all soon
