It's been 6 months
since my last report from the home game, for which I apologise. I know that some of
you like them and I will now try and keep doing them monthly
These past few month have brought MANY new players to the game. This month alone,
four new players came to the game.
First of all I must thank Lloyd (seven card) for christening the wood floor in the
kitchen and to his wife, Janine (The Innocence) for doing the same in the living room.
The bills in the post
The new players this month were Martin, Barry, Livia and James.....
Livia is a regular at Luton (Mark Banins wife) and, therefore, is no stranger to the
game. Martin and Barry play online and had never been to a live game before. I introduce
James to online poker only 2 weeks ago and this was his first live game also. All
the new players did great and James even went on to finish 2nd in the last game -
well done !!
Martin, who turned up on his Harley ,
left the house at about midnight and then proceeded to "warm the harley up with full
throttle out" for five minutes outside the house. I've not yet met my new neighbours
but I am sure I will be getting a visit very soon
Martin and Barry are both friends of Ricks (who is a regular now at my game). Thanks
to Rick for introducing them to the game and I hope they both had a good day.
James turned up for the last game and was VERY drunk ,
having spent the afternoon at the pub. He then proceeded to drink the 4 cans he brought
with him and then polished off what beer I had in the fridge. He was very nervous
at first as he didn't know how to shuffle and deal, but once he was given a quick
tutorial, started to loosen up a bit. He then went on to come 2nd to Jeff in the last
game, so obviously the alcohol didn't affect him that much.
The rest of the day was fantastic. Lots of laughter, food, drink and pokkah was enjoyed
by all.
A few words must also be said about poor Jonty who came all the way from Brize Norton,
got stuck in traffic, came into the game having been blinded out for the first level,
went all in with pocket Kings after 20 mins and was called by Barry who had pocket
sixes on a 235 flop. Cards on their backs to see Barry make the straight on the turn.
Jonty was in and out of the house within 25 minutes .
Hopefully his footy team won the cup final (which he had to get back for as he was
playing in it).
Some regular faces to previous games were missing but with any luck they will make
a re-appearance next month.
Jeff pretty much cleared up in the tournaments AGAIN, no change there then .
Congrats to him for winning the 2nd and 3rd games.
As usual, I love doing these games and look forward to seeing everyone for the next
game on the 29th May.
